Northridge Baths,
Fixed From the Pipes Out
A Northridge bathroom depends on the decade: the 1950s–60s tracts have the 5-by-8 hall bath with galvanized lines and a cast-iron drain, while the 1970s houses and the estate lots have copper lines, larger primary baths and tile that was fashionable in 1975. Behind either one the work is the same: waterproofing, slope, ventilation to the outside and supply lines that will outlast the tile.
Behind the new tile, the Northridge house sets the scope. The plumbing is typically galvanized supply lines in the 1950s–60s houses, copper in the 1970s tracts, slab floors almost everywhere, and chimneys and cripple walls that still carry 1994 earthquake repairs. The waterproofing, the slope of the pan and the ventilation to the outside are what decide whether the room lasts, so our proposal prices the pan and the re-pipe before the finishes, and the electrical gets GFCI-protected circuits and a properly ducted fan on every job.
Our office is in Valley Glen, about 20–25 minutes away, so the project lead who does your estimate is on site through the 3–6 weeks the build takes, and most Northridge families stay in the home. The site is cleaned every evening and the rest of the house stays livable.

Full Scope,
Done Right the First Time
Tub-to-Shower Conversions
The signature Northridge bathroom project. We pull the old tub, reframe and waterproof the shower, set a properly sloped curbed or curbless pan, and tile it with a linear or center drain — plus niches, benches, and blocking for grab bars if you want it aging-in-place ready.
Waterproofing Done Correctly
This is where corners get cut and ceilings leak. We use proper hot-mop or sheet/liquid membrane systems, sloped pre-slope under the pan, and correct curb and niche detailing — the invisible layer that decides whether a bathroom lasts 20 years or 2.
Tile, Stone & Glass
Porcelain, natural stone, handmade ceramic, zellige, and full-height shower walls — installed by our in-house tile crew with proper edge and transition systems. Frameless glass enclosures templated and installed to fit.
Vanities, Fixtures & Lighting
Floating or freestanding vanities, quartz or stone tops, undermount sinks, wall-hung or comfort-height toilets, and layered lighting with proper GFCI-protected circuits and exhaust ventilation sized to the room.
Re-Plumbing & Re-Piping
With the walls open, it's the moment to replace tired galvanized supply lines with copper or PEX, update the drain and vent, and move plumbing to support a new layout — restoring the water pressure these older Northridge homes lost decades ago.
Permits & Inspections
All plumbing, electrical, and shower work permitted through LADBS and carried to signed-off final inspection. We handle the submission and the corrections so the finished bathroom is fully legal and documented.
Transparent from the first visit to the closed permit.
Professional, licensed and insured, and we put that in writing at every step, because a remodel is a trust decision before it is a construction decision.
California general contractor license CSLB #1021284 (General Building B), active since 2016, with general liability and workers' compensation insurance. Check the license yourself at cslb.ca.gov before you sign anything, with us or anyone else.
The proposal lists what is demolished, what is built, which finishes are included and which permit covers it. If it is not written down, it is not in the job.
When walls, floors or roofs open up we photograph what is behind them and send you the pictures. Anything beyond the scope is priced in writing before the crew continues. You never find out from the invoice.
California law caps a home-improvement deposit at $1,000 or 10 percent of the contract, whichever is less. We follow it. Progress payments follow the work, and the final payment comes after your walkthrough.
We submit the plans, meet the inspector and close the permit. You get the closed-permit record, which is what a buyer, an insurer or an appraiser will ask for.
The people who estimate the job are the people who build it. No subcontractor hand-offs, no call center; your project lead answers the phone during the job and after it.
What We Find Behind
Northridge Tile
Northridge spreads across the northwest Valley from Nordhoff Street north to the 118, with the Cal State Northridge campus at its center, the Northridge Fashion Center on Tampa, Sherwood Forest and Devonshire Highlands on their half-acre lots to the south and north, and the Metrolink station on Wilbur Avenue a mile from campus. Our office is in Valley Glen, about 12 miles southeast, a 20–25 minute drive, and the LADBS counter that reviews Northridge permits is the Van Nuys Development Services Center on Van Nuys Boulevard, on the way.
The most requested project here is the primary-bath renovation in the 1960s–70s ranches, where there is already room for a double vanity and a walk-in shower where the tub-and-shower combo stood; in the tracts it is the tub-to-shower conversion in the hall bath. Almost everything in Northridge sits on a slab, so relocated drains mean cutting concrete, and we lay out the fixtures to keep the drain where it is whenever the plan allows.
Plumbing and electrical work in Northridge is permitted through LADBS (City of Los Angeles) at the Van Nuys Development Services Center, with the rough and final inspections scheduled around the build so the schedule does not slip; every bathroom we build is permitted.
How We Price a Bathroom remodel
in Northridge
Every bathroom remodel in Northridge gets one fixed, written price after a free on-site visit: we measure the house, check what LADBS requires for the lot and price the whole scope before you sign anything.
What moves the number is the scope you choose, the condition we find behind the walls and the finish level, never a surprise invoice: anything we uncover during the work is priced in writing before the crew continues, and the final payment comes after your walkthrough.

What Clients Say About
Our Bathroom Remodeling Work
I had three contractors look at my bathroom before Right Image Builders. They were the only ones who came prepared with a real scope document and a fixed price. Six weeks later — my bathroom is incredible. The tile work alone is worth every penny.
Two bathrooms, new hardwood floors, kitchen cabinets, and a laundry room — all in one project. Right Image Builders coordinated everything flawlessly. They answered every text within the hour. This is how construction is supposed to work.
